Matt Couldwell
Partner
As a partner, CPA, and serial entrepreneur, Matt’s enthusiasm for business and people shines through in his strong professional relationships and his passion for solving complex problems. Matt has over 15 years of business, finance, and accounting experience through starting and managing multiple businesses, working in public practice and industry as a designated accountant.
Matt specializes in small and medium-sized business advisory focusing on cash management, budgeting, and monitoring. His goal is to help businesses navigate growth efficiently and effectively while recognizing the risk of capital intensive growth cycles. Matt is experienced in multiple industries including alcoholic beverage manufacturing & distribution, financial services, insurance, real estate and mining.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and golfing whenever time and weather permits. He also enjoys ten pin bowling, the odd beer league baseball game, and cheering on the Canucks and Blue Jays.
Zohra Rasooli
Partner
Zohra Rasooli is a co-founder and partner at Origin Accounting & Advisory. Born in Afghanistan, Zohra moved to Vancouver with her family at the age of six to pursue a better future.
Zohra has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. After obtaining her degree, she started as an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). During her time at PwC, Zohra performed external audit services in various industries including banking, insurance, utility services, and not-for-profit organizations.
Zohra has worked extensively with public companies adhering to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards and is experienced in the review, documentation, and improvement of internal controls relating to key business and accounting processes.
In her free time, Zohra is learning to golf and enjoys swimming.
